Mainland Movies is a small, creative production company specialising in wedding and event videography, and editing. We are based in Gore, Southland. Husband and wife team David and Gayle Lormans are the owner-operators.
David has had a long enthusiastic history in the motion picture industry, making his first films at age 14 on Super-8mm film. Today, Mainland Movies use the latest technology, multiple cameras, and sophisticated editing software to create a memorable keepsake of your special event.

Equipment We Use
We use a variety of different equipment, depending on the needs of the day. Our gear includes dedicated 4K (3840 x 2160 pixel) movie cameras, which capture outstanding, cinematic video.
What we don't use are large cameras with huge lenses that require a strong-man to lift. People tend to be intimidated by that sort of thing; our equipment is small, professional and discrete. You will hardly notice that we are there.
Once captured, our footage is carefully backed up before being edited and colour graded, using Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5.
